These photos were taken from Dec. 19, 2011 - Jan. 3, 2012 while visiting our granddaughter, Hallie, who was on winter break as a high school exchange student in Tokyo. What a great opportunity to meet two of three of Hallie's host families, visit her school, see some of the country and learn more about their culture. Japan has much to commend it from their sense of community responsibility to the way they have built their country's infrastructure. Americans would do well to study and emulate their values of industry, civility, service, and community.
